Hello,
I'm Vicki Finlayson, the therapist behind Aubrieta Online Therapy. I have over 25 years' experience providing therapy for a range of mental health conditions and have a specialist interest in treating eating disorders. I welcome individuals experiencing other common mental health concerns, if we feel I may be the right fit for you and I can offer a helpful therapy.
My training and experience
Having trained as an Occupational Therapist, I am now a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I am trained in a specialist CBT treatment approach for non-underweight eating disorders called CBT-T. Over my career in Scotland, I have built an extensive "therapy toolkit" that I hope to share with you. I also practice CBT, self-compassion and mindfulness in my own daily life.
Why Aubrieta?
I chose the name Aubrieta, as it's a resilient little flowering plant that has to endure rain, wind, storms and even neighbouring little plants trying to budge it out the way! Like all living things, if it gets enough sunlight and the "right conditions", it can grow and bloom. I guess this spoke to me as very similar to us humans and why it is so important for us to figure out what the "right conditions" are for ourselves to thrive and flourish. This isn't always easy and I've increasingly learned that most of us struggle with this at some point in our lives.
